		POST 652 April 13, 2024 MY MYSTERIOUS ISLAND Charles Phan Hoang
		MY MYSTERIOUS ISLAND I love this island. I refer to this place as my Mysterious Island, but in reality, it is a peculiar and mysterious complex consisting of five islands and a peninsula. What's strange about it is that it resembles an open hand with all five fingers stretched out and has a section that looks like an upside-down map of Vietnam. This is quite fascinating to me. As for its mysterious nature, even after ten years, I have yet to fully explore it, let alone unravel all the mysteries this island could hold. The island has a great and vast beach, with golden sand and a gravel path that leads somewhere, but it turns into multiple disappearing trails at some point unnoticed. Depending on the time and season, that winding path turns into so many trails that I keep counting without getting the accurate number. I've bravely attempted to explore endlessly, but to no avail. On this island, there are no inhabitants, just a single house located by the gravel road. It's evident that the house is not abandoned, yet I've been watching and never caught a glimpse of anyone there. It seems that the entire island is a strange contrast. On one side, there's a luxurious beach, and on the other side, it's a quiet, misty wilderness where few people understand the mysterious lives of the birds and beasts on the island. As I wandered aimlessly on the island, I increasingly realized that only the past is something we truly experienced, while the future is merely speculation. Conversely, the present stays as a true enigma. How could we really know the present since we only understand it when it is gone? Walking on a long path in this Mysterious Island makes me feel that time is stopped. (Charles Phan Hoang, Post 652, April 13, 2024)
